Portal Three Kingdoms Trained Jackal 154 or 155?

Post by Mattalic » Sat Oct 24, 2015 3:14 pm

English card shows card number 155. Chinese/Japanese shows 154. Gatherer shows a checklist order of ...154,155,155...

What's up with that?

There is an issue with these three english P3K Cards

Trained Cheetah ( 155)
Trained Jackal ( 155)
Trip Wire (154)

Since the Order should be alphabetical like this

Three Visits (153) / Trained Cheetah / Trained Jackal / Trip Wire / Wielding the Green Dragon (157 )

Imho for only the english Jackal has the correct 155 Serial
While Cheetah should be 154
and Trip Wire should be 156

However, since they also seem to have messed up the Jackal and the Cheetah for chinese and japanse P3K, we can assume, that the intended correct Order is

Trained Jackal (154), Trained Cheetah (155), Trip wire (156)
Where Trip Wire has the correct 156 in japanese and chinese already.

There are more Serial number issues in P3K
All red japanese p3k cards have their Serial 1 number lower than the english ones, probalby because they messed up the name of Burning of Xinye and accidently named it Wildfire in japanese, which changed the alphabetial order of this card from "B" to "W"

Japanese Kongmings Contraption is missing its Serial entirely

Finally all japanese P3k Basiclands have the same Serial (166) , which is only correct for one plains.

Wow....

It's making it very hard for me to determine what I actually have since I don't know the pictures by heart for all cards yet....

Here we go:

#7 Guan Yu's 1000-Li March

Image

In Japanese Portal Three Kingdoms, EVERY land is #166/180, and only one of them is correct!

TWO Japanese P3K rares are missing the number entirely - #10, Kongming's Contraptions, and #7 Guan Yu's 1000-Li March!

This Japanese Portal 3 Kingdoms common(#30)Volunteer Militia is completely missing the black shadow ink in its name.

Japanese Portal Three Kingdoms Zodiac Rabbit: Card type "Rabbit"

Japanese P3K - number 104 'Burning of Xinye' has number 124 in the Japanese set.

Japanese Portal Three Kingdoms Lu Bu, Master-at-Arms is numbered 114/180 instead of 115/180

Symbol for all Japanese Blue, Red, Green cards are misplaced

Is it just the scan or does Volunteer Militia have a grey shadow in the name?

I grabbed the scan from the internet, you can clearly see that the black ink is missing, I will try to scan one of mine to check if there's any grey.

Some of the missing serial numbers are actually variants. The starter deck sheets did not have serial numbers, while those from packs did.
