I want to get a scanner/printer that I can use with Win 8 and not have to mail myself stuff from my Win XP system that is 2 feet from my Win 8 system. MS will stop support of XP in April so I guess the time has come to move. There are no printer drivers for Win 8 and my Lexmark X6570 printer.
I bought two combo printer/scanners, a Cannon and an Epson. I returned both because they can't do foils. I get blotches of other colors on the foils I scan. Biggest problem is green where I get red and other colors. In addition, cards with open backgrounds like sky end up with ripples of color. One board member that gets good results has a dedicated Cannon scanner--I have no place for one.
Recomendations and suggestions would be appreciated. Most importantly those where users have personal experience with Magic foils.
Thanks in advance.
Gary

I have an All in one Cannon and a separate Epson scanner. My All in one is horrible with graded cards and foils hence why I went and bought the Epson Perfection V600. I have no idea if it works for Windows 8 but it does well on windows 7. I prefer the Cannon software but I'm getting used to the Epson software and it's not so bad anymore.

I did try one dedicated scanner. It was a Cannon 9000F. I choose that one because it can also scan slides and negatives. Same problem as mentioned above, blotched colors and wavy lines.
It did do a very nice job on slides though and I hated to take it back. I just found about 900 slides that I took in Korea in the 70's and really want to digitize them but can't take up that kind of space for just that one purpose.
I0qii what model Epson do you have?
Brian; You mentioned this on facebook and I may have to go to a scanner only but even then I'd like to know what models people have had success with. You told me the model there but I lost the thread, could you tell me again please?
A comment made by a Best Buy clerk was that she understood that newer scanners had moved to a new technology in making scanner lights and that might affect the results. My Lexmark is only about 10 years old.
