Mana Drain Legends Distribution

Post by wizard1 » Fri Nov 17, 2006 9:08 am

Question. From looking at a uncut sheet of Italian Legends uncommon sheet I know that Mana Drain only shows up once. Does this correlate directly to what is in a sealed box?

Or I should rephrase and just ask, how often do Mana Drains show up per sealed box (italian).

THanks.

Mana Drains!

Remember that the uncommon distribution was stuffed up in Legends.

Every box had a selection of half the run of uncommons, resulting in A boxes and B boxes.

I've never seen a list of the halves, but if you find one it means you can open only one booster and work out if you should open any more or not.

English only as far as I can tell from my research.

Yes I believe the messed up distribution only applies to English Legends. Regarding Italian Legends, you should expect an average of 1 Mana Drain per box (you get 108 Uncommons in a booster box, and there are just about that number of uncommons in the set).

You can see the Legends uncommon distribution list here: http://www.magiclibrary.net/magic-cards ... index.html

Better check the new website once in a while ;-)

wizard1: My commentary was aimed at Ponagger mainly. I know you asked about Italian Legends cards specifically.

[sheepish]

That's what I get for having the forums bookmarked and not the mainpage. Consider me duly up to speed. The website is starting to look really good!

As ende stated, there's 108 uncommons per box. Italian Legends escaped the colation mishaps of the English printing, so with 114 uncommons in the set, you have 94.7% likelihood of pulling a Mana Drain from a box.

As a side note, Italian Legends print run was approx 10% smaller than the English. But with WotC providing Italian Legends in prize support at their GenCon and other Vintage and Legacy events, there's been a noticeable increase in the number of It Drains on the market this past year. Personally, I think it's one of the better buys in the older cards right now.
