Binders Storage

Post by equi-nox76 » Tue Mar 04, 2008 11:41 am

Hi everybody,

thought this might be interesting for some of you.

Since I was looking for the perfect storage method for a long time and could not find anything I have developed some binder protectors myself and let them produce by a pro.

The binder itself is a Rößler SOHO with perfect fit for a complete block + promos + misprints, booklets...

To protect the cards better here is the protection for the binder, first it comes into the first cover:

And finally in the second cover, so it is completely close, ready for storage:

The material is by the way pH-neutral and breathable. :-D

From Chris, but from what I understood, he's have to have several made at the same time so that the price per unit would decrease.

Hi,
they are not available on the market, I was looking for such a storage for binders for a long time, but nothing was good enough, so I decided to make some myself and let them be produced by a pro. The problem is that when you order just one, the price is unworthy of discussion (I think it was 25 Euro), so I let them make 20 of them and 1 pattern (15 Euro for each) for the more valuable cards. Now they fit exactly and no more dust on the cards, every other dimensions (mine are 285x70x322mm) are possible.
Funny side-note: the pattern was sold the next day in their shop, the buyer was a Magic collector :-P

I will have my own binders made soon. They will have a Magic Art on them and will hold the stand-alone in the binder and 2 portfolios for the small sets (I'm doing this because Ultra Pro was not clever enough to make portfolios that could hold a stand alone inside, I love portfolios). The whole thing will be placed in a big box to protect from dust.

I had a pro-forma from the printer, each binder will cost $15 (€10) so that is worth it.

Glues binders

Post by equi-nox76 » Thu Jun 05, 2008 10:28 am

Do you have fotos? Is this price for any number of them, or is there a minimum order qty?
I let another company make some prints (on thick paper with protected surface) with the pics of all related expansions of a block on it for the binders and protectors. I'll take some pics when I've spare time.

The qty is 250.

But I need one binder for each expansion x 2 (foil and non foil) x 9 languages, so that's quite a lot.

I may order more, I haven't decided yet.

I don't have any picture yet.

antistatic bag

Finally also made a closable antistatic bag where the binders go in first, I think in this combination they're protected very well for a looooooooong time :-P

Now you just need to add some silica gel to each bag to keep out moisture.

Bags

Post by equi-nox76 » Tue Jul 08, 2008 12:41 pm

Yes, they can bee sealed.
Btw I'll not use the silica gel, I talked to some people from my company (we used to use them for storage purposes of high-end equipment in the past) and they told me that it is not recommended to use them, because if there is a only a little opening in the bag, the silica gel tends to absorbe the complete moisture of the surrounding area, with the effect that the inside of the bag gets completely wet after some years of storage #-o Thanks to God that we have very competent people here [-o<
