Probably all you experienced Yanks know this already but I didn't and thought I'd mention it "just in case".

I sold some sealed product to a fellow in the UK not long ago and was shocked by the amount of duty and VAT he had to pay (no, I do not mark a 1K package as being a gift worth 25.00). In any case he ordered more from me. When I went to FedEx to send it I took a second look at the line on the form asking where the item was manufactured. Before I had put USA but this time I put Belgium, which is 100% true.

Vola! No VAT charged.
